San
Antonio based guitarist Randy Cordero began his training at an
early age. He has studied with such prestigious guitarists as
Rene Heredia, Paco Garrigues "El Chatarrero", Chuscales,
Jose Luis Rodriguez, Pedro Cuadra and Domingo Rubichi. Randys
musical style is a blend of authentic gypsy flamenco with modern,
contemporary influence. Randy as a solo flamenco guitarist can
transport your guests to the heart of Southern Spain with its
passionate, ambient rhythms; or a full flamenco show by Randy
and his skilled dancers can provide an energetic and engaging
entertainment experience to remember.
Randy has performed throughout Texas, Colorado and Mexico and
has collaborated with many professional flamenco artists and flamenco
dance companies throughout these areas. As an accompanist, Randy
has the knowledge to deliver a full flamenco show utilizing his
years of experience working with flamenco dancers, singers, and
other musicians. Randy can also be seen featured in the nationwide
television commercial for York Air Conditioning Company. Randy
has been featured on many local television and radio broadcasts
including San Antonios WOAI Morning Show, Musica Suave 90.3
in Corpus Christi, and the Sonny Melendrez Morning Show.
Randy has set goals to broaden public awareness for this exciting
and passionate art form called flamenco; through live performances,
lectures and demonstrations both privately and for the public.
In 2005 Randy enjoyed an extended stay in Jerez de la Frontera,
Spain where he studied the Jerez style of Flamenco with Master
Guitarist Domingo Rubichi. Randy plans to return to Spain in the
near future to continue studying the challenging and authentic
flamenco style unique to Jerez. Educational presentations about
the culture and history of Spain relating to flamenco and gypsy
life can also be provided. |
